It's a worker not a looker
This cake stand is not the prettiest but it must be the best out there ( and i have looked at a few) because:
The glass dome and base are thick and heavy like Pyrex and I guess it would take a heck of a knock to chip it.
The cake plate and dome fit together so snugly it must be as near to airtight as possible to keep cakes fresh.
The cake plate is flat and so perfect to slice cakes on, other I have seen have a lip around which will get in the way.
It can also be turned upside down and be a chip and dip tray and a punch bowl or fruit bowl.
The dome is nice and high with straight sides and so my towering cakes can fit underneath.
I am thrilled with mine. It's not an eye catcher when you see it with other ones on Amazon but don't overlook it. It looks terrific to me and just think how much better it will look with a great big cake inside. It will become a family heirloom I am sure...
Fabulous Cake Stand
This stand is described as a 4 in 1. Not true. It also makes a great fruit bowl and is fantastic if you make bread
and use the dome to cover the dough on the second prove - so much easier than covering with clingfilm! I am sure there must be many more things it could be used for.
I originally ordered one stand for myself and was so impressed I ordered another four straight away.
Three of the four arrived in one piece but unfortunately the fourth was completely shattered. I spoke to
customer services at U Stores in Coleraine and they were more than helpful. A replacement stand arrived within a week
in perfect condition.
