Excellent And Versatile
I originally bought this product (The Nordic Ware Cake Lifter) for the transfer of cakes, but so far used it to transfer pizza, roast meats and also to drain the roast chicken.
I would say it is a cooks Must Have. be prepared though It is big!
It is made from cast aluminium and it has a rubber handle, the plate measures 10" appox
Pricey but Worth It
This is a solid beautifully made product that won't be falling apart anytime soon. It's forged from a single plate of cast aluminium with a sturdy rubber handle and is perfect for a variety of uses and not just cakes. Be aware though it's big - ten inches (25cm) in diameter so don't think you'll be keeping it in your regular utensil holder! If you want to save a few quid there is another version from Nordicware which is essentially exactly the same product but without the non-stick coating (see Nordicware Cake Lifter). However I do find the non-stick does massively improve your cakes's 'slideoff-ability' and it's also much easier to washup afterwards. Marvellous product.
