I received these from Amazon recently, rinsed them through and dried them - challenging but not major. However, after being used for frozen smoothies (always a pleasure), trying to get all the remnants of fruity yoghurt from within the mechanism is a nightmare. I tried a bottle brush, standard washing-up brush as well as the dishwasher, but found it was virtually impossible to remove all residues.

Maybe this is less of a big deal for others, but if not refilled immediately, the decaying yoghurt leaves a horrible smell and would, I feel, taint the plastic holder in a negative way. Also, from a hygiene point-of-view, this is less good.

I did manage to take a holder apart, but this is NOT easy at all and when I tried, using a (blunt) knife edge, I managed to scratch the plastic. Putting it back together was very difficult because although it sort of "snaps" back together, you've really got to force it.

Great product!
I bought some of these today from John Lewis, and they're brilliant! Filled them with lemonade, and they work great, you put the lid on and put them in the freezer, then when they're frozen you take the top off and push it on to the bottom which makes it into a handle. Then twist, and the lolly pushes up. No leaks or mess like all the others I've tried.
