Spoilt by the dreaded sticky label
This product is what it's described as, and does the job it's designed to do very well. Unfortunately, the all too often use of (very) sticky labels spoils it. No matter how I tried, I could not remove the residue from the glue on the label. I tried a number of things, and eventually managed to damage the varnish on the rolling pin.
However, the seller was excellent, and sent me a replacement straight away. He/she had removed the label for me on the new pin, but alas, the sticky residue remained. This might not sound like a major problem, but any dough, etc. that you are rolling gets stuck to the residue on the pin.
Eventually I cured the problem by spending 15 minutes completely sanding down the pin, glue residue, and varnish all completely removed - problem solved!
Why do companies insist on spoiling their products with very sticky labels?
