In most places it could of done with a few more coats of paint before being finished and it seems somewhat see through on most of the cube. I bought this as a birthday present for my partner, but mostly I bought it because I liked it! I had checked around on other sites and this was the cheapest I found since it's imported. A lot of the reviews on here seem to be negative because of the paintwork. I agree that it looks a little slapdash, but I think it adds to the charm as you can tell it is hand-painted and not some mass produced product. If you want a perfectly painted cookie jar, this probably isn't for you. This resembles the companion cube from the web comics more, and for that reason I (and my boyfriend) love it. It's a decent size as you can fit a large amount of cookies and biscuits in it. The only thing that I think could be a negative is that due to its shape, it obviously has no seal on it and therefore won't keep cookies as fresh for as long as some other jars, but that's not really a problem in our house.
