I was asked to make the wedding cake for my brother and his wife-to-be. They wanted cupcakes with plain white icing and a little white rose on top of each one. I was also given the free-hand of making a small cake to go on top, for them to cut. This was also to be plain and simple with white icing and roses. They are quite expensive and so are not for informal occasions but for a wedding or other special occasion or party they add a little extra style.
One tip - I found it best to make the wrappers up (simply wrapping round and hooking together) then popped the buns in. The cupcakes I made were muffin size and the wrappers were a perfect fit.
I would recommend these wrappers ( and there is a selection of colours and styles available) for special occasions. I also managed to salvage some afterwards that I can re-use!!
