Very Nice Stand
This is a really nice cake stand, but I do have a couple of little issues.
These may not affect everyone and are not major, but will effect the odd person which is why I have chosen to base my review on them.
The first Issue is in the retailers description, no where does it state the hight of the dome so here goes:
at the lowest point the outer edge of the dome it measures approximately 9 cm high. and at the highest point (not measuring the spherical handle) it measures approx 12cm high toward the middle of the dome.
It is very difficult to measure the dome to be exact because of its shape so my measurements are an approximation. for those who have bought it for the Nordicware Bundt cakes
The Heritage Bundt = perfect fit
The Sunflower Bundt = may just fit with a bit of a squeeze on the width but the height is fine even with the overspil
The Cathedral Bundt = just fits in height (if the overspill is cut down to the rim of the pan...
how do they get the glass to be so thin
Bought this item after reading other reviews on Amazon. I can only assume they've been written by plants from the manufacturer. The glass dome is so thin and weak it'll break if you even look at it. Well obviously not strictly true, but a slight knock resulted in it ending up in 100 pieces. This was after about 10 days and frankly I'm amazed it actually lasted that long. What made it even worse was that Amazon had hiked the price up by over 20% between me finding the item one day and going to order it the next. So all in all a very bad buy. Spend a bit more a get something decent and avoid this like the plague. You have been warned!
