I purchased this product to replace an identical one that I damaged by my own stupidity - leaving it unattended under a very hot grill. I have been using Le Creuset ware for nearly 50 years and retain a few of that age. Modern ones seem to have a better quality finish. This was my first serious accident with Le Creuset ware. like all quality products it must be treated with respect snd is not s quick fix for a slap happy cook. The manufacturer's instructions for caring should be studied and followed. I never use harsh abrasives - burnt on material will come off with patient soaking. Neither do I wash them in a dish washer - I always use hot water with added liquid soap. These products are not cheap, but once up to temperature, which doesn't take long, then a minimal heat is needed to maintain them at the required cooklng temperature. I have no hesitation in recommending this or any Le Creuset cast iron product to anybody that appreciates their food and is prepared to take time and...
