I bought this item to make a birthday cake for my granddaughter and although it was quite easy to do I was dissapointed with the height of the cake. I had to make another sandwich cake to go underneath to give it the height I needed to make a decent size dress. Without the second cake the doll looked stumpy.This product is ok if you are going to make a lot of these kind of cakes otherwise I would just hire one as they are quite pricey. I also didnt like the idea of having to stick sausage shape lumps of icing onto the cake before I covered it with another layer of icing to make the dress. It would have been better if the tin was shaped to look like the picture on the box. Overall I was dissapointed with this item.
Great tin
This is fantastic for making cakes. I did line it with grease proof paper instead of following their directions but it came out perfectly. You can either use the doll which comes with the tin(it's from the waist upwards and you can buy more from cake decorating shops/websites) or you can put a full doll through the middle, I had to make an additional round cake for the bottom though as this tin isn't tall enough.
Fantastic mould
Am very happy I bought this item, it is fantastic for a Barbie cake. There is one small issue which is that if you wanted to put a full length Barbie, you can't because of her long legs. In that case, just bake a normal round cake and put that underneath. All in all I am very pleased with this purchase.
