I was a little dubious about buying this cup due to the volume of bad reviews. But took the chance, keeping my fingers crossed that the positive ones were the most accurate.
Well... All I can say is it definitely does work and I don't really understand why people have had problems. The only thing I can think of is their freezers aren't cold enough. Mine is adjustable and currently on -22 and in 4 hrs the cup was ready to do its job.
Possibly other uses aren't doing the whole squeezing thing for long enough. The advert, to be fair, does give the impression that you will have a full blown slushy in about 3 seconds with 3 squeezes but in reality it takes more like 30 seconds of active squidging to get the desired results... Hardly overly taxing.

My kids love the slushy drinks out of the machines but they are ridiculously expensive and very lurid colours usually which means they don't get them very often. We put these cups in the freezer for 12 hours, filled it with apple juice, few squeezes and off they go merrily with their slushy drinks. It's not quite as slushy as the machines but pretty close and keeps them busy for 20 minutes or so.
The only pain really will be the cleaning. The lid and various plastic bits can go in the dishwasher but the actual ice bit and soft outer cups need to be hand washed so I just take them to bits and do them all in hot soapy water. While the novelty lasts I am having to get them washed and back in the freezer quickly so they are all ready for tomorrow's slushy creation. We've only tried juices and lemonade so far, I don't really fancy milk slushy!
