Very disappointed
I bought these cup cake toppers to decorate cakes for my daughters birthday party. Firstly they come all on one sheet which means they need to be cut out which is a little fiddly but also hard to obtain that perfect circle. Secondly, although the instructions do state that they work best on buttercream icing, it does also say that can be used on glace icing which is what I used. Unfortuately there was no mention that coloured icing should not be used. I used a red/pink colour icing and after a few minutes the cake toppers went a speckled colour to the point where it was hard to see the picture, which incidently was not very bright as implied in the website picture. They also curled at the edges - the instructions tells you to place the cake upside down on a firm surface if this happens - not exactly easy on cupcakes that are not perfectly flat! Overall I would not buy these again but instead will look for sugarette cake toppers which I have used in the past and which do the job...
Made a lot of 5 year old girls very happy
I used these on cup cakes for my daughter's 5th birthday, and the girls loved them. I used white buttercream icing, and the tops of the cakes were flat so I had no problems. It is a bit annoying having to cut each circle out separately (although that still probably took less time than wrapping pass the parcel...) and brief guidelines on how best to use the toppers (eg icing type etc) would be useful, although not absolutely necessary. I've kept the rating at 5 though, as I couldn't find a similar product anywhere else.
Disappointed
I was very disappointed with these cake toppers. The colours were very faint and the individual circular toppers were not cut out of the rice paper. Cutting even circles for every topper would have been pretty time consuming. As it was, given the very poor colours, I didn't end up using them. A waste of money!
